Caps Blue Line was a originally born out of another blog, Wayward Sports Sons, which covers D.C. Sports. As the blog was starting up I was asked to contribute,and seeing a chance to write a little but without the obligation to maintain a site on a daily basis I agreed. Once I started writing (primarily about the Capitals) I found that I really enjoyed it and pretty soon I did want to want to update on a daily basis, with every little bit of Capitals or NHL news I found interesting.Since Wayward Sports Sons was intended to be a D.C. sports-centric blog I decided it would be best to put all the smaller notes and stories on a different blog, so as to not clutter W.S.S. up and thus Caps Blue Line was born.
The original Caps Blue Line was hosted on Blogger and while the service was (and still is) very user friendly, I quickly became frustrated with Blogger’s web design limitations (especially being unable to move to a three-column format) and I registered www.capsblueline.com in January of 2008.
