No doubt Brashear deserved all six minutes he got, however the call on Erskine was huge and I thought was a microcosm of bad calls and non calls all day - the missed calls at the game's outset, the non call on Backstrom and the excessive call on Cooke.

I blame Brash more than the officiating. The penalties, with the exception of the Erskine call, were penalties. However, if Brash can't control himself in that situation, then he doesn't belong on the ice. I see little difference between his act last night and that of Chris Simon earlier in the season. Neither act did damage, but both had the potential for severity. Despite not having the back history of Chris Simon, I would push for Brash to sit for a long time after that act.
